Pages of a Diary & Pages of a Sketchbook

Pages of a Diary and Pages of a Sketchbook are a series of self-portraits, in both unflattering and complimentary representations. Like the pages of a diary, they record moments in my life of extreme happiness and desolation. Like pages of a sketchbook, the preliminary drawing is not always obliterated, to allow the imperfections to tell it’s own story. It is an honest portrayal of thoughts, that some relate to, in the theme of mental illness.
It was during a moment of severe depression and extreme anxiety, that I finally sought professional psychological assistance and was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Syndrome, now more commonly know as Overly Emotional Disorder.
These two series of work mark the moment in my life when I decided to take mental health seriously.
